$33-$36/hour (DOE) Company Vehicle & Fuel Card Provided About the Opportunity Broadstaff is seeking an experienced OSP Construction Supervisor with strong Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) experience for a growing telecommunications infrastructure program in the Jefferson City, Missouri market. This is an excellent opportunity for a field leader who has progressed from equipment operation into construction oversight and can successfully manage multiple underground fiber construction crews while driving safety, quality, and production. This position is designed as a contract-to-hire opportunity , with the client interested in converting the right individual into a long-term leadership role. What You'll Do Supervise and support 2-3 underground fiber construction crews Oversee HDD, bore, trenching, conduit, fiber placement, and restoration activities Ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications Conduct daily safety briefings and maintain a strong safety culture Verify utility locates, permits, and traffic control measures before construction begins Inspect HDD operations, bore paths, conduit installation, and completed construction work Track daily production metrics and provide accurate field reporting Coordinate with project managers, engineering teams, subcontractors, and utility representatives Identify and resolve field issues to keep projects moving forward Maintain high standards for workmanship, documentation, and customer satisfaction What We're Looking For 3+ years of experience supervising telecommunications construction crews Strong background in Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) and underground fiber construction Previous experience operating HDD equipment is highly preferred Ability to inspect and evaluate underground construction quality and production Experience managing multiple crews across active projects Knowledge of utility locating requirements, 811 regulations, excavation practices, and right-of-way construction Ability to read and interpret telecom construction prints, maps, and engineering drawings Working knowledge of trenchers, mini excavators, HDD drill systems, and related construction equipment Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and make sound field decisions Preferred Experience Fiber optic construction OSP telecommunications construction Directional boring and underground utility installation Crew leadership and performance management Utility, broadband, or telecommunications network deployment Schedule & Travel Primarily supporting projects in the Jefferson City, MO market Field-based position with daily jobsite presence required Occasional travel and weekend work may be required based on project needs Contract-to-Hire Opportunity This role offers a clear path to direct employment for the right candidate.
