Competitive, based on experience Gallatin Customs is looking for an experienced, hands-on Construction Foreman to lead our crews and help deliver high-quality construction projects. We are seeking a working foreman who leads by example, takes pride in their craftsmanship, and is willing to get their hands dirty while keeping projects organized, productive, and moving forward. This is a "bags-on" position — we need someone who can lead a crew, manage daily jobsite activities, solve problems in the field, and actively participate in the work rather than simply supervise from the sidelines. Job Responsibilities Lead and work alongside a construction crew on daily jobsite activities. Plan, organize, and assign daily tasks to keep projects on schedule. Read and interpret construction plans, drawings, and specifications. Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, suppliers, and other trades. Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to company quality standards. Monitor jobsite progress, materials, equipment, and manpower needs. Identify and resolve field issues before they impact the schedule or quality of work. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite. Communicate daily progress, delays, material needs, and potential issues to project management. Ensure tools, equipment, and materials are properly maintained and available. Hold crew members accountable for productivity, workmanship, and professionalism. Help train and mentor crew members to improve skills and performance. Follow project schedules and help coordinate upcoming phases of construction. Qualifications Proven experience in residential or commercial construction. Previous experience as a foreman, lead carpenter, or experienced crew leader preferred. Strong hands-on construction skills and a solid understanding of building practices. Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications. Experience coordinating crews, materials, and multiple jobsite activities. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and make sound decisions in the field. Dependable, organized, and committed to high-quality workmanship. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to perform physical construction work, including lifting, bending, standing, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is a true working foreman who takes ownership of the jobsite. You should be comfortable picking up a tool and getting the work done while also keeping the crew focused and productive. We are looking for someone who: Leads by example and isn't afraid to work. Takes pride in doing things right the first time. Understands that schedule, quality, and safety all matter. Can keep a crew moving without constant direction. Communicates clearly and addresses problems head-on. Shows up on time, follows through, and holds themselves to a high standard. Takes responsibility for the success of the project and the performance of the crew. Compensation & Benefits Competitive pay based on experience and qualifications. Full-time, year-round employment opportunities. Opportunity to take on greater responsibility as the company grows. Work with a team that values craftsmanship, accountability, and quality construction. Additional benefits to be discussed during the hiring process. How to Apply If you're an experienced construction professional who knows how to lead a crew while staying hands-on in the field, we want to hear from you. Apply through Indeed and tell us about your construction experience, leadership background, and the types of projects you've worked on.
