Plumbing Superintendent

Job Description

Company Overview Our client is an established commercial plumbing contractor delivering new-construction and renovation projects across North Carolina. Its portfolio includes multifamily communities, educational facilities, healthcare buildings, hotels, offices, and other commercial developments. The business is known for dependable project delivery, strong field leadership, and high standards of workmanship. Working closely with general contractors, developers, and property owners, the company provides plumbing expertise throughout the construction process - from early coordination and installation through testing, closeout, and ongoing service. Position Overview Our client is seeking an experienced Multifamily Plumbing Superintendent to oversee projects throughout the Greensboro and Winston-Salem area. This is a full-time, field-based position responsible for leading plumbing operations from initial rough-in through final inspection and punch-list completion. The Superintendent will manage field personnel, coordinate daily activities, and ensure installations are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project plans, applicable codes, and quality expectations. This individual will work closely with project managers, general contractors, inspectors, and other trades to maintain schedules and address jobsite challenges as they arise. Key responsibilities include planning manpower requirements, reviewing drawings and specifications, coordinating inspections, overseeing material and equipment needs, tracking progress, and maintaining accurate field documentation. The successful candidate will provide confident jobsite leadership, communicate effectively with all project stakeholders, and create a productive, safety-focused working environment. Qualifications Previous experience supervising plumbing crews on multifamily construction projects. Strong working knowledge of commercial plumbing installation, including underground, rough-in, top-out, testing, and final completion. Ability to read and interpret plumbing plans, specifications, coordination drawings, and broader MEP documents. Experience planning manpower, assigning daily work, and keeping field activities aligned with the construction schedule. Thorough understanding of relevant plumbing codes, jobsite safety requirements, and quality-control procedures. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues early and implement practical solutions in the field. Comfortable coordinating with project managers, general contractors, inspectors, subcontractors, and other trades. Ability to manage deliveries, materials, equipment, inspections, daily reports, and other project documentation. Professional communication skills and a strong commitment to workmanship and customer service. High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant trade training, apprenticeship completion, or plumbing licensure is preferred. Reliable transportation and the ability to travel between project sites throughout the Greensboro/Winston-Salem region.
