Job Description

Position Description:
The Plumbing Piping Foreman directs and oversees all activities related to assigned projects with their primary responsibility being to provide leadership to site crews and to ensure that project execution remains on track to be complete on time and on budget while ensuring the adherence of safe jobsite work practices. Coordinate activities to complete the project by contract deadline Manage labor and material needs to support the project and meet or beat estimated budget Ensure all work meets or exceeds VHV productivity and quality standards Ensure that field crew are following VHV's safety policies and procedures at all times Establish a strong rapport with the customer, General Contractor, subcontractors and the Project Manager with a goal to establishing a strong working relationship with everyone involved Ensure that all activities are in line with the design and specifications of the project

Essential Functions :
Review and understand project scope of work, blueprints, building codes and specifications to determine work details Review and understand all submittals for the project Plan work to ensure the most efficient use of available labor, tools and other resources Review weekly labor analyses to ensure the project remains on schedule Serve as a coach and mentor to journeyman, apprentices and laborers to motivate the crew and maintain a high employee morale. Discipline employees when necessary and issue written warnings when required Promptly inform the HR Department of any employee issues including unacceptable behavior and attendance Ensure vendors and subcontractors involved in the project are delivering and/or meeting their respective project items, punch lists and schedule so they are not negatively impacting the project Create goodwill with customer by being responsive to their concerns while going above and beyond to assist in meeting their needs Create and maintain a diversified work environment that is harassment free and in compliance with VHV's company policy and all State and Federal regulations Understand and report all issues or concerns that may fall under VHV's harassment policy. Ensure all work performed is thorough and accurate Ensure company tools, equipment, vehicles and property are cared for in an acceptable manner Complete the following weekly documentation in a timely manner: Timecards & Employee Expenses, 3 Week Lookahead, Cost Analysis, Safety Toolbox Talks, T & M Slips Promptly inform the Safety Officer of any injuries that occur Develop a good understanding of base contract to help identify when work is outside of the initial defined scope Coordinate material and equipment delivery with project team Attend all job site and office meetings related to assigned projects Complete a daily job site report that provides a summary of work activities and who is on site Participate in employee evaluations and provide timely feedback to employees Perform a daily site inspection to identify potential safety hazards and advise field workers and Safety Officer while working towards mitigation Review safety protocol with all new hires prior to them starting on site. Understand the proper use of all safety equipment and ensure crew are using correctly at all times Make sure job site remains neat and orderly to avoid any potential safety hazards
Competencies:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent 10 plus years experience in mechanical and HVAC industry running large scale projects Must have a current, valid Journeyman or Master Plumbers license Maintain all applicable certifications and licenses as required Manage and resolve conflicts constructively Ability to work in extreme weather and temperature conditions Possess strong practical problem-solving skills Ensure conformance to all company, customer, State and Federal safety regulations Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical specifications, architectural drawings and construction documentation Ensure all applicable Local and State codes and standards are being adhered to Ability to recognize and report all unsafe working conditions. Knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, uses, repair, and maintenance Knowledge of basic mathematics and ability to read and use various measuring devices Knowledge of relevant safety equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to meet company, VOSHA and OSHA standards Adhere to VHV's policies and procedures while representing and promoting the Company in a professional manner
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
This is a field-based position. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Ability to hear and verbally communicate effectively Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time Workers must be able to see well (either naturally or with correction) Use hands, fingers, arms, and legs to safely manipulate objects Lift and carry tools and materials weighing up to 75 lbs (average lift less than 50 lbs) Climb up and down, balance and work safely on a minimum 30-foot ladder and scaffolding 15 feet or more in the air Requires ability to walk, climb, stand, carry materials, stoop, kneel, bend at waist The employee occasionally works outside and is occasionally exposed to cold, wet and or humid conditions Work regularly occurs at jobsites where exposure to construction related hazards exist, including working near moving mechanical parts, working in high and precarious places and confined spaces Wear the
Proper PPE:
safety boots that cover at least the ankle, clean blue jeans or appropriate work pants without tears or rips, VHV logo preferably on the work shirt or jacket (depending on weather), safety glasses, gloves, and your hand tool bag

$35.00 - $50.00 per hour
