Job Description

We are hiring a high-performing Lead Commercial Solar Foreman to run large-scale commercial rooftop, canopy, and ground-mount solar installations in and around Lakewood, NJ . If you are a licensed Journeyman Electrician with deep commercial solar expertise, strong crew leadership skills, and an uncompromising commitment to job-site safety, this is your opportunity to command and build high-impact clean energy infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities Site & Crew Leadership:
Direct, mentor, and manage a team of commercial solar installers and electricians, driving daily project progress on schedule and within budget.
Electrical Execution:
Direct and perform complex 3-phase AC/DC electrical work, conduit bending, transformer hookups, switchgear tie-ins, and inverter array integrations.
Blueprint & Plan Review:
Interpret single-line diagrams, commercial electrical schematics, structural engineering plans, and site layouts to ensure accurate field build-out.
Quality & Code Compliance:
Ensure all work strictly meets National Electrical Code (NEC) standards, local Lakewood township requirements, and utility interconnection guidelines.
Safety & OSHA Enforcement:
Maintain a zero-compromise safety culture on-site, enforcing fall protection, PPE, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and daily tailgate safety briefings.
Inspection Management:
Act as the primary technical contact for local building/electrical inspectors, utility reps, and company project managers during commissioning.
Requirements & Qualifications License:
Valid Journeyman Electrician License required.
Electrical Experience:
4+ years of hands-on electrical experience, with specific focus on commercial or industrial solar installations.
Safety Certifications:
OSHA 10 required; OSHA 30 strongly preferred.
Technical Mastery:
Expertise in high-voltage commercial solar equipment, 480V systems, commercial roof types (TPO, EPDM, standing seam metal), and ground-mount structures.
Driver's License:
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (eligible to drive company commercial vehicles).
Physical Capability:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs consistently, work comfortably at heights, and work outdoors in year-round conditions.
Pay:
$35.00 - $45.00 per hour
