This position oversees daily production, crew organization, materials, equipment, layout, craftsmanship, jobsite safety, and communication with the Project Manager or Division Manager. The Crew Leader is expected to lead by example and consistently represent Rock Shelter's standards for Quality, Communication, Accountability, and Teamwork. Duties Lead and direct an assigned landscape construction crew on a daily basis. Perform and oversee hardscape and landscape construction including patios, walkways, steps, walls, terraces, outdoor living areas, drainage systems, grading, planting, and related site improvements. Review plans, scope of work, schedule, materials, equipment, and daily priorities before beginning work. Assign tasks to crew members and monitor productivity and quality throughout the day. Train and develop crew members in proper construction techniques and safe equipment operation. Maintain a professional, respectful, and productive jobsite culture. Communicate staffing, production, scheduling, and performance issues to management. Requirements Lead masonry operations including natural stone, concrete block, segmental retaining walls, veneers, caps, treads, and other masonry applications as applicable. Read and interpret construction plans, details, elevations, dimensions, and specifications. Lay out work accurately using measurements, levels, lasers, strings, grades, and other layout tools. Ensure proper base preparation, compaction, drainage, grading, bedding, setting, jointing, and finishing techniques. Maintain and delegate proper sequence of work to maximize crew productivity and minimize rework. Inspect work continuously and before the crew leaves the site. Ensure finished work meets Rock Shelter's craftsmanship and quality standards. Operate skid steers, loaders, excavators, compactors, saws, mixers, and other construction equipment safely when qualified. Accurately record and communicate daily progress Qualifications 5+ years of landscape construction experience preferred. Strong masonry and hardscape experience required for Mason Leader responsibilities. Previous crew-leadership experience preferred. Ability to read landscape construction plans and specifications. Strong understanding of grades, elevations, drainage, base preparation, and layout. Experience with natural stone, pavers, retaining walls, steps, and related hardscape construction preferred. Ability to safely operate construction equipment. Valid driver's license required. Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
