Job Description

Ready to take the next step in your utility career? Partners Excavating Co. is looking for an experienced Utility Crew Leader to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone who has been working on a utility crew, knows the work, and is ready to step up into a leadership role. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, dependable employee who can work alongside the crew while helping keep the job moving safely, efficiently, and according to plan. What You'll Do Assist with leading and directing a utility crew in daily field operations Read plans, figure grades and percentages , and help ensure utilities are installed to proper line and grade Install water, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer systems Operate excavators and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently Coordinate daily work with the Utility Foreman and Superintendent Help organize manpower, equipment, materials, and jobsite activities Monitor quality and productivity throughout the day Promote safe work practices and help maintain a safe, organized jobsite Train and mentor less-experienced crew members Lead by example and be willing to work alongside the crew when needed What We're Looking For Previous experience working on an underground utility crew Experience installing water, sanitary sewer, and storm systems Ability to calculate grades, slopes, and percentages Excavator operating experience Ability to read plans and understand utility layouts Strong communication and problem-solving skills Dependable, safety-minded, and willing to take responsibility Previous leadership experience is a plus, but not required. $29.00 - $32.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 48.0 per week

Driver's License (Required) VDOT Basic Work Zone Certification (Preferred)
