Job Description

Traveling Installation Supervisor - Sanitary Pipefitter UPP | $30-$40 per hour, based on experience Typical work schedule: 9 days on, 5 days off. This schedule may vary depending on the job and project requirements. UPP is hiring an experienced, hands-on Installation Supervisor / Project Lead to oversee a road crew of 4-6 people on sanitary piping, sheet metal, and installation projects. Depending on the project, you may work directly with a project manager, or you may serve as the primary project lead in the field. This is a working leadership position, you'll fit sanitary pipe, install sheet metal, work alongside your crew, organize daily activities, and help keep the project moving safely and efficiently. We're looking for someone who takes ownership, communicates well, makes sound decisions in the field, and wants to grow with UPP. What You'll Do Lead a crew of 4-6 people on traveling industrial installation projects. Work hands-on as an industrial pipefitter, sanitary pipefitter, and sheet metal worker alongside the crew. Set the example for safety, workmanship, productivity, and work ethic. Coordinate daily schedules, work assignments, and priorities with the project manager. Read and interpret P&IDs, blueprints, sanitary piping layouts, sheet metal drawings, and construction documents. Help complete sanitary piping, sheet metal, ductwork, equipment, and related installations for plant expansions, new construction, and other industrial projects. Install, fit, support, and modify stainless steel, sanitary piping, tubing, ductwork, and sheet metal components as required. Plan ahead for tools, materials, and equipment, and communicate shortages or needs before they delay the job. Check work for accuracy, quality, proper fit-up, alignment, slope, supports, and sanitary installation requirements. Identify problems and help resolve field challenges. Keep the project manager informed about daily progress, crew needs, schedule changes, and jobsite concerns. Maintain professional relationships with plant personnel and other contractors, bringing scope changes or customer requests to the project manager. Support and train crew members while holding the team accountable for safe, productive work. Take responsibility for keeping the crew organized and the project progressing when working without a project manager on site. What We're Looking For Strong hands-on experience in industrial pipefitting, sanitary pipefitting, sheet metal, and installation work. Previous experience as a lead pipefitter, sanitary pipefitter, sheet metal worker, foreman, or installation supervisor. Experience working on the road and in industrial plant environments. Ability to confidently lead and organize a crew of 4-6 people. Ability to read P&IDs, blueprints, sanitary piping drawings, sheet metal drawings, and construction documents. Familiarity with stainless steel and sanitary piping installation, including proper fit-up, alignment, slope, supports, and clean installation practices. Experience with sheet metal fabrication, ductwork, fittings, layout, installation, and field modifications. Clear communication skills and the ability to follow project direction while making sound decisions in the field. A dependable, team-first attitude and willingness to work alongside the crew. Willingness to travel and adapt to changing project schedules. Ability to lift 75 pounds and perform the physical duties of pipefitting, sanitary piping, sheet metal, and installation work. Pay & Benefits $30-$40 per hour , based on experience and qualifications. $62 daily per diem. Hotel and transportation covered. Up to $350 per month in health insurance reimbursement. 3%
