SUMMARY:

The Project Laborer provides general labor and construction support for assigned projects. This position performs a variety of physical and hands-on duties to assist project supervisors, skilled trades, equipment operators, and other crew members in completing work safely, efficiently, and on schedule. The Project Laborer may assist with site preparation, material handling, demolition, cleanup, basic construction activities, and the operation of hand and power tools. Work is primarily performed on active construction sites and may require working outdoors in varying weather conditions, around heavy equipment, and in physically demanding environments. The Project Laborer is expected to follow all company and project safety requirements, maintain a clean and organized worksite, take direction from project leadership, and contribute to a safe and productive crew environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist with general construction, maintenance, repair, demolition, and site improvement activities.

Prepare and clean construction sites before, during, and after project activities.

Load, unload, move, stage, and organize construction materials, tools, supplies, and equipment.

Assist carpenters, equipment operators, mechanics, and other skilled trades as directed.

Perform basic construction tasks such as measuring, digging, backfilling, grading, compacting, fastening, assembling, and material preparation.

Use common hand and power tools safely and appropriately.

Assist with installation or removal of construction materials and components.

Perform demolition and removal of debris and discarded materials.

Maintain work areas, storage areas, tools, and equipment in a clean, safe, and organized condition.

Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment.

Follow instructions provided by the Project Manager, Superintendent, Foreman, or other designated supervisor.

Follow company safety policies, project-specific safety plans, and applicable OSHA requirements.

Properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE) when directed.

Work cooperatively with employees, subcontractors, vendors, and other personnel on the project site.

Perform physically demanding work, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling throughout the workday.

Work outdoors and in varying weather, terrain, noise, dust, and construction-site conditions.

Perform other project-related labor and construction duties as assigned and within the employee's training and qualifications.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND LICENSURE

EDUCATION:

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Previous laborer, construction, warehouse, maintenance, or general labor experience preferred.

Ability to safely operate basic hand and power tools.

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

SKILLS:

Strong work ethic and dependability.

Ability to perform physically demanding work.

Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy materials (up to 50 pounds or more as required).

Knowledge of workplace safety practices and PPE requirements.

Attention to detail and commitment to quality work.

Problem-solving and adaptability in changing work environments.

Ability to follow safety procedures, policies, and supervisor direction

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is primarily performed on active construction sites, both indoors and outdoors, and may involve exposure to varying weather conditions, uneven terrain, dust, dirt, debris, noise, vibration, heavy equipment, power tools, and other construction-site hazards. Work schedules and locations may vary based on project requirements.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling. The employee must be able to safely handle construction materials, tools, and equipment and perform repetitive manual tasks throughout the workday. The position may require lifting and carrying materials of varying weights
