- Landscaping & Tree Care Position Summary The General Laborer supports the landscaping and tree-care crews with a variety of outdoor tasks.
This position involves physical labor, landscape maintenance, cleanup, material handling, and assisting experienced crew members with tree and landscaping projects. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Assist with landscaping, tree-care, and property maintenance projects. Load, unload, carry, and organize landscaping materials, tools, and equipment. Assist with planting, mulching, trimming, pruning, edging, and general landscape maintenance. Assist tree crews with ground-level work, including brush removal, chipping, raking, and cleanup. Operate basic hand tools and landscaping equipment as trained. Maintain clean and safe work areas at job sites. Remove branches, leaves, debris, and other materials from work areas. Assist with loading and securing equipment and materials on company vehicles. Follow instructions from crew leaders, foremen, and supervisors. Follow all company safety procedures and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE). Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition. Perform other general labor and landscaping duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous landscaping, tree-care, or construction experience is preferred but not required. Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry materials and equipment. Comfortable working in varying weather conditions. Dependable, punctual, and willing to work as part of a team. Ability to follow safety procedures and directions. Valid driver's license preferred. Work Environment This position is primarily outdoors and may involve exposure to heat, cold, rain, dust, noise, uneven terrain, and other job-site conditions. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and climb as needed. Ability to lift and carry equipment, materials, branches, and debris. Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday.
