Job Description

Now Hiring:
Exterior Renovation Contractor -
Siding, Trim, Gutters & Property Cleanup Job Location:
Rexford, KS Sentri Homes, a nationwide residential construction company, is looking for an experienced exterior renovation contractor to complete a multi-phase project on an older residential property. We partner with skilled crews on a project-by-project basis — and contractors who deliver quality, reliable work become part of our go-to network for recurring jobs across the country. The Job An approximately 110-year-old home needs its deteriorated pressed-wood siding fully replaced with vinyl siding, along with trim, soffit, fascia, and gutter work. Before any exterior work begins, the property needs vegetation clearing to give the siding crew proper access. This is a phased project — order of operations matters and must be followed exactly as outlined below. Scope of Work Phase 1 — Vegetation & Yard Clearing (must be completed first) Cut back/remove weeds, vines, brush, and overgrowth around the side and rear-side portions of the home Cut down/cut back unwanted bushes and shrubs Trim/remove interfering tree limbs and branches; address smaller trees/volunteer growth obstructing access Clear vegetation away from exterior walls to give the siding crew adequate working room Pay particular attention to the area near the fence and around the HVAC equipment Rake and clean affected areas; load and haul away all debris Not included: new landscaping, sod, grass seed, grading, irrigation, stump grinding, or landscape redesign — this is a cleanup only Phase 2 — Siding, Trim, Soffit & Fascia Remove/prepare existing deteriorated pressed-wood siding; inspect exposed substrate/sheathing once removed Prepare exterior walls and install WRB/housewrap where required Furnish and install ~1,750 SF of standard vinyl siding, including starter strips, J-channel, corner posts, utility trim, termination pieces, and accessories Properly cut and finish around windows, doors, utilities, vents, HVAC lines, electrical components, and other penetrations; seal/weatherproof exterior transitions Exterior trim/finishing around 6 existing windows and 3 existing exterior door openings (including the sliding door) — windows and doors are not being replaced Install ~200 SF vinyl soffit with appropriate channels/accessories Front porch overhang (~48" x 48"): must be finished as part of the soffit/fascia work — this was specifically confirmed with the homeowner and must not be overlooked Install ~170 LF fascia trim/wrap, coordinated with soffit and trim package Haul away all construction debris generated by this phase Phase 3 — Gutters & Downspouts (after fascia/exterior work is complete) Install ~120 LF aluminum gutters, properly pitched toward downspout locations Install ~30 LF standard downspouts, secured with appropriate hangers/fasteners Seal applicable joints/end caps Route downspouts to discharge away from the foundation where site conditions allow Phase 4 — Final Cleanup & Walkthrough Remove remaining siding/construction debris and any leftover vegetation debris Clean all work areas Verify siding, window/door trim, soffit, fascia, gutters, and downspouts are complete — specifically confirm the front porch overhang was finished Complete final walkthrough with homeowner Job Details Required sequence: Vegetation clearing → Siding/trim/soffit/fascia → Gutters/downspouts → Final cleanup/walkthrough. Crews must not overlap phases.
Color/material selection:
Homeowner is considering "Thistle" (light cream/neutral) for siding, with a coordinating complementary shade for trim, soffit, and fascia — final colors must be confirmed with homeowner before materials are ordered Concealed damage protocol: This is a ~110-year-old home with visible existing deterioration. If rot, damaged sheathing, water damage, framing deterioration, insect damage, or other substrate issues are found once siding is removed: photograph and document, notify project management, price the repair, and get homeowner approval before performing any work outside the contracted scope. Do not perform additional structural or sheathing repairs without authorization.
Not included:
deck repair/replacement (homeowner is handling warped deck boards himself) Point of contact: Project Coordinator, Sentri Homes What We're Looking For Minimum 2+ years of relevant trade experience (siding/exterior renovation and/or property clearing) Must have tools and equipment necessary to complete the job Reliable transportation and a disposal method for all trash, vegetation, and construction debris Take before, during, and after photos throughout — thorough documentation required, especially for any concealed damage found Pay $[to be discussed] Do great work and there's more where this came from. We reward reliable, quality crews with repeat projects nationwide.
Pay:
$25.10 - $30.23 per hour
Work Location:
In person
