In this role, you will assist with tearing down structures, removing building materials, and preparing sites for new construction or remodeling projects. Your energetic approach and attention to safety will ensure projects are completed on time and to the highest standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop hands-on skills in demolition, building material removal, and site preparation while working outdoors on diverse projects. Responsibilities Assist with the safe demolition of buildings, structures, and hardscaping features using hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment under supervision. Remove debris, hazardous materials, and building components such as drywall, framing, masonry, and flooring in accordance with safety protocols. Support the disassembly of fixtures including cabinets, windows, doors, and trim carpentry elements. Operate heavy equipment such as excavators or skid steers to facilitate large-scale demolition tasks while adhering to all safety guidelines. Interpret technical drawings and construction plans to understand project scope and demolition requirements. Assist with site cleanup, material sorting, and disposal following environmental regulations. Collaborate with team members on tasks like plumbing removal, electrical disconnection, stucco or plaster removal, and other building material installations during remodeling phases. Follow safety procedures diligently to maintain a secure work environment for yourself and others on-site. Support the setup of scaffolding or other access equipment for high or hard-to-reach areas during demolition activities. Experience Prior construction site experience is highly preferred, especially in demolition or remodeling projects. Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment operation is essential. Experience interpreting technical drawings and construction plans will be advantageous. Knowledge of safety protocols related to demolition activities is required to ensure compliance and prevent accidents. Outdoor work experience in various weather conditions is beneficial. Basic understanding of building systems such as electrical wiring or plumbing can enhance your effectiveness on-site. Demonstrated ability to work efficiently as part of a team in fast-paced environments is important for success in this role.
