Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and skilled Laborer/Welder to join our dynamic fabrication and construction team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects that require hands-on metal fabrication, welding, and construction site experience. The ideal candidate will be a proactive team player with a strong mechanical aptitude, capable of interpreting technical drawings, operating power tools, and adhering to strict safety protocols. This paid position is perfect for individuals eager to develop their skills in welding, fabrication, and construction while contributing to high-quality project outcomes. Responsibilities Perform welding operations using various techniques including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards and ASME codes. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to accurately execute projects. Measure materials precisely using calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math to ensure proper fit and finish. Fabricate metal components and structures from sheet metal, ductwork, piping, and other metal materials through cutting, bending (press brake machine), soldering, plasma cutting, and rigging. Operate power tools such as grinders, drills, saws, press brake machines, and plasma cutters safely and efficiently. Assist in construction site activities including rigging, pipe threading, assembly, and installation of fabricated parts on-site. Maintain a clean work environment by adhering to safety protocols at all times while handling heavy equipment like forklifts or machining tools. Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines while ensuring quality standards are met consistently. Requirements Proven construction site experience with a solid understanding of safety procedures and protocol adherence. Hands-on experience with welding techniques including
MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW
; familiarity with AWS standards preferred. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and interpret mechanical blueprints accurately. Competence in using measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers; basic math skills for precise measurements. Mechanical knowledge of fabrication processes including sheet metal fabrication, pipe threading, plasma cutting, and assembly. Experience operating power tools such as grinders, drills, press brakes, plasma cutters; familiarity with rigging and manufacturing processes advantageous. Ability to work effectively on construction sites or in fabrication shops with minimal supervision. Valid certification or experience operating forklifts or other heavy machinery is a plus. Pay:
$24.00 - $27.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
