Job Description

Who We Are At R.H. White, our day-to-day work is construction, but our purpose is creating well-being for our people, customers, and communities. Through our Power of One culture, every employee has the opportunity to make a meaningful impact, whether on a jobsite, within the company, or in the communities we serve. We invest in our people through training, career development, and a strong commitment to safety, creating opportunities to build not just projects, but long-term careers. The Opportunity As a Laborer on our Utility Construction crews in Hanover, NH, you'll support essential Infrastructure Construction work—helping install piping for Underground Utilities including Water Main, Sewer Main, Storm Drainage, and Natural Gas Construction. This entry-level role exists to keep field operations moving safely, efficiently, and with attention to detail. Responsibilities include assisting with layouts, assembly, and installation of underground/above-ground piping; supporting the pipe/utility crew with general labor and hand tools; and following construction safety expectations on active municipal/public works sites.

Qualifications/skills:
  • High school diploma/equivalent or relevant experience
  • 1+ year general labor/construction experience
  • Read/write English
  • Ability to pass written tasks and Operator Qualification tests when applicable
  • OSHA 10 Construction (or obtain via company-provided online training)
  • Ability to obtain/maintain DOT medical card and valid unrestricted driver's license
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen Ready to launch your career in Utility Construction?

Apply to grow with a supportive team. Your Typical Day A LLaborer day starts with a quick plan and safety check, then you're out on-site with a utility crew building Underground Utilities that communities rely on. You'll rotate between tasks—staging materials, keeping the work zone tidy, and helping the team stay coordinated as excavation and trenching progress. Some days you'll support traffic control as work moves along roads; other days you'll be near pipe crews as Water Main, Sewer Main, or Storm Drainage lines go in, or around Gas Utility work areas. You'll learn by watching skilled teammates, asking questions, and jumping in when the crew needs an extra set of hands. Expect outdoor work, steady physical labor, and a 4/10 schedule with occasional O/T—plus the satisfaction of seeing real Public Works and Heavy Civil Construction progress by the end of the shift.
