Job Summary The Road Construction Laborer is responsible for assisting milling machine operators, supporting road striping crews, driving a water truck, and performing general labor duties on roadway construction projects. This is a physically demanding position that requires working outdoors in various weather conditions and around heavy equipment. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Assist milling machine operators during asphalt milling operations. Drive and operate a water truck safely to support milling and dust control operations. Perform general labor tasks including shoveling, sweeping, cleanup, and site preparation. Load, unload, and transport tools, materials, and equipment. Set up and remove traffic control devices, cones, signs, and barricades. Assist road striping crews as needed. Perform routine equipment inspections and report maintenance needs. Maintain a clean and organized job site. Work closely with supervisors and crew members to complete projects safely and efficiently. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Valid driver's license (CDL is a plus but not required). Ability to safely drive a water truck or willingness to learn. Construction, paving, milling, or heavy equipment experience is preferred but not required. Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly. Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work long hours outdoors. Dependable attendance and strong work ethic. Ability to work well in a team environment. Work Environment Outdoor work in varying weather conditions. Frequent overtime during peak construction season. Some overnight travel may be required. Work around heavy machinery, traffic, and construction equipment.
