Job Description

About Flare Construction Flare Construction, LLC, a Quanta Services Company, is a full-service heavy civil and energy contractor serving customers across Utah, Wyoming, Idaho, and Nevada. We are currently hiring Skilled Laborers to join our Civil crews on an active project in the Eagle Mountain, UT area. About the Role This is hands-on field work for experienced laborers who are ready to work with less direct supervision and take real ownership of their tasks. As a Skilled Laborer, you will run hand and power tools, handle compaction and subgrade work, support pipe and utility crews, spot and signal equipment operators, and help keep the jobsite safe and productive. • Start up, operate, and shut down small equipment such as plate compactors, jumping jacks, and walk-behind rollers.
  • Assist with compaction, subgrade preparation, fine grading, slope trimming, and material placement to project specifications.
  • Signal and guide equipment operators during grading, excavation, and utility installation.
  • Support pipe crews installing storm drain, sanitary sewer, water main, and conduit.
  • Help with concrete flatwork setup, forming, and minor finishing tasks.
  • Read grade stakes and check grade under Foreman direction.
  • Handle and transport materials in line with company and DOT requirements.
  • Provide informal, on-the-job guidance to newer crew members and model safe work practices.
  • Take part in daily safety briefings, track your time accurately, and communicate progress to the Field Foreman. What We Are Looking For
  • Prior construction laborer experience, ideally in civil earthwork or underground utilities.
  • Comfort operating small equipment and a range of hand and power tools.
  • Dependable attendance, punctuality, and consistent follow-through.
  • A safety-first mindset and the ability to work well with a crew.
  • Willingness to work varied shifts, including early starts, long days, nights, or weekends as the project requires. Education & Certifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • OSHA 10 required.
  • Valid state driver's license required; Class A or B CDL preferred.
  • First Aid / CPR preferred.
  • OQ qualifications as applicable to the project; support provided to complete required modules.
