EXPERIENCED HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR / CDL DRIVER

Schultz Landscaping is hiring an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator / CDL Driver to join our excavation and sitework crew. We are looking for someone who can confidently operate equipment on commercial, municipal, and residential projects and is willing to work alongside the crew outside of the machine when needed. Work Area Our projects are generally located within approximately 1.5 hours of Mount Horeb, Wisconsin. This position is a good fit for someone looking for regional construction work without extended out-of-town travel. This Is a Hands-On Position Being hired as an operator does not mean sitting in a machine all day. All members of our crew are expected to help wherever needed to get the job done.

This can include:

Shoveling and raking Setting storm, sewer, and water pipe Checking grades and elevations Working around structures and utilities Handling materials Setting up lasers and grade equipment Jobsite setup and cleanup General physical labor Helping other crew members as needed We're looking for team players who are just as willing to grab a shovel as they are to climb into an excavator. Equipment & Project Responsibilities Operating excavators, dozers, skid steers, loaders, and other heavy equipment Building and site excavation Rough and finish grading Storm sewer installation Sanitary sewer and water services Underground utility excavation Aggregate placement Road and parking lot construction Culvert and drainage installation Loading trucks and managing excavation spoils Hauling equipment and materials when needed Performing daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance Preferred Qualifications Previous excavation or heavy civil construction experience Strong excavator and/or dozer operating experience Underground utility experience Ability to read plans, elevations, stakes, and grades Trimble

GPS / 3D

machine-control experience CDL Class A or B Experience hauling equipment with a lowboy Good understanding of equipment care and daily maintenance Ability to work independently when necessary Strong safety awareness and attention to detail Willingness and ability to perform physical construction labor We're looking for someone who understands that being a good operator isn't just about moving dirt.
