We are looking for a dependable, hardworking individual to join our team during our busy auction and estate cleanout season. This is a hands-on, physical position. A large part of the job involves cleaning out estates and properties, moving furniture and merchandise, loading dumpsters, organizing auction items, and helping our auction crew wherever needed. This is currently being hired as a temporary/seasonal position. Our estate cleanout workload typically slows during the winter months and picks back up in the spring. No auction experience is required. We can teach you the auction side of the business. What we're looking for most is someone who shows up, works hard, follows directions, stays productive, and isn't afraid of a hard day's work. What You'll Do Responsibilities may include: Estate and property cleanouts Loading dumpsters and disposing of unwanted items Moving furniture, boxes, equipment, and auction merchandise Sorting items between auction merchandise, disposal, donation, and other designated areas Loading and unloading trucks and trailers Setting up and organizing merchandise for online auctions Moving and organizing merchandise within our warehouse Assisting with auction pickups Helping customers load purchased merchandise when needed Cleaning properties, garages, basements, warehouses, and work areas Traveling with our crew to estates, businesses, and other auction locations Helping keep job sites organized and safe Assisting other team members wherever needed to get jobs completed efficiently Who We're Looking For The ideal candidate: Is dependable and shows up ready to work Has a strong work ethic and positive attitude Is comfortable performing physical labor throughout the workday Is willing to get dirty and work in a variety of environments Can safely lift and move furniture, boxes, and other merchandise Is comfortable working in homes, basements, garages, barns, warehouses, businesses, and outdoor environments Can work in conditions that may occasionally be dusty, dirty, hot, or cold Can follow directions and established safety procedures Works efficiently and stays productive Can work independently when necessary Works well as part of a crew Treats customers, coworkers, clients, and their property with respect Has reliable transportation to get to work Is willing to travel to local and regional job sites as part of the workday Experience with moving, construction, demolition, landscaping, warehouse work, cleanouts, property maintenance, or other physical labor is helpful, but not required. We're more interested in finding someone dependable who is willing to work and learn. Schedule This position is expected to provide full-time hours during our busy season, with scheduling based on our current auction and cleanout workload. Most work takes place during daytime weekday hours. Start and finish times may vary depending on the location and needs of each project. Some jobs require travel from Rhinelander to estate and business locations throughout the surrounding area. Temporary/Seasonal Position & Future Opportunities This position is being hired as temporary/seasonal because our estate cleanout workload typically slows during the winter. However, our cleanout and auction workload generally increases again in the spring, and we're always interested in keeping good employees around. Someone who proves to be dependable, hardworking, productive, and a good fit with our team may have the opportunity to return when seasonal work increases or potentially learn additional areas of the auction business as opportunities become available. Northern Auction & Estate Services continues to grow, and we value employees who are willing to work hard and grow along with us.
