Overview Join our dynamic construction team as a Skilled Construction Laborer and become a vital part of building and maintaining high-quality infrastructure projects. Responsibilities Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and technical drawings to execute tasks accurately. Assist with erosion control measures to protect the environment and ensure project compliance. Perform heavy lifting and manual handling of materials, tools, and equipment safely and efficiently. Operate power tools and equipment, conducting basic repairs and maintenance as needed. Follow strict workplace safety regulations, including implementation of OSHA safety standards and use of respiratory protection gear. Conduct erosion prevention activities and support environmental safety protocols on-site. Climb ladders, scaffolding, or other structures safely to access work areas at various heights. Support industrial construction activities by installing, repairing, or maintaining structural components. Ensure all work complies with safety regulations related to heavy lifting, mechanical operations, and equipment handling. Assist with site cleanup, material handling, and setting up construction zones in accordance with project specifications. Experience Perform general construction labor duties as directed by supervisors and foremen. Assist with the installation of firestop materials, including sealants, putty pads, mineral wool, firestop collars, sleeves, and related products. Prepare work areas and penetrations for proper firestop installation. Remove debris, excess material, insulation, and other obstructions before installation. Assist experienced installers with firestopping of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural penetrations. Follow manufacturer installation instructions and approved UL-listed firestop systems. Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas. Load, unload, stage, and transport materials, tools, ladders, and equipment. Properly use hand tools, power tools, caulk guns, measuring equipment, and other construction equipment. Install mineral wool and backing materials to required depths and compression. Perform basic quality-control checks and report installation concerns to supervisors. Protect finished surfaces and surrounding construction from damage. Properly use required PPE, including hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, fall protection, and respiratory protection when applicable. Work safely from ladders, lifts, scaffolding, and elevated work areas when properly trained and authorized. Coordinate professionally with other trades working in the same areas. Travel to project locations when required.
