$70-85k We are seeking an experienced Field Construction Manager to oversee outside plant fiber construction throughout the Piedmont-Tuskegee, Alabama market. This is a highly field-focused position responsible for managing contractors, monitoring construction quality, resolving field issues, and ensuring fiber projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with aerial and underground OSP fiber construction , understands fiber splicing and testing, and has experience managing multiple contractors or field crews. Responsibilities Manage day-to-day construction activities for aerial, underground, and buried fiber optic networks Oversee last-mile fiber construction as well as portions of backbone network builds Coordinate construction contractors, splicing crews, locate vendors, and internal project teams Perform field inspections and quality control of contractor work Identify construction deficiencies and ensure corrective work is completed through final resolution Monitor contractor productivity, workmanship, safety, and schedule performance Review construction plans, fiber designs, splicing diagrams, and project documentation Assist contractors with field changes, design questions, and construction challenges Track project schedules, construction progress, budgets, and contractor performance Ensure work complies with company standards as well as applicable RUS and NEC requirements Support fiber splicing activities and troubleshoot construction or fiber-related issues when needed Provide regular project updates, including progress, risks, delays, and corrective actions Build strong working relationships with contractors, crews, project managers, and internal operations teams Spend the majority of the workday in the field monitoring active construction projects Qualifications 4+ years of telecommunications OSP construction experience Strong experience with fiber optic construction Hands-on knowledge of both aerial and underground fiber construction Experience overseeing contractors, subcontractors, or field construction crews Strong understanding of OSP construction quality standards and field inspection practices Ability to identify construction issues and drive them through completion Experience managing project schedules, contractor performance, and construction budgets Working knowledge of fiber splicing, testing, and troubleshooting strongly preferred Familiarity with RUS and NEC standards related to outside plant construction Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills Comfortable working independently and making decisions in the field Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the assigned Alabama market Preferred Experience Previous experience as an OSP Construction Manager, Fiber Construction Manager, Construction Supervisor, OSP Supervisor, Construction Superintendent, or Fiber Construction Foreman Experience managing multiple fiber construction contractors simultaneously

last-mile fiber deployment experience Fiber splicing knowledge Experience with both new-build fiber construction and repair/maintenance environments Previous leadership or supervisory experience What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who understands fiber construction from the field up—not simply a project manager working from an office. The right person will be comfortable walking construction sites, inspecting aerial and underground builds, holding contractors accountable for quality, solving field problems, and keeping projects moving from construction through completion.
Pay:
$70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
