CONSTRUCTION PROJECT COORDINATOR
Coast Construction Company San Leandro, CA Full-Time
ABOUT THE POSITION
Coast Construction Company is seeking an organized, dependable, and proactive Construction Project Coordinator to assist with residential and light-commercial construction projects throughout the Bay Area. We specialize in insurance restoration, including fire and water damage repairs, reconstruction, remodeling, and tenant improvements. The ideal candidate has at least two years of construction experience and understands the importance of scheduling, documentation, communication, and follow-through. This position works closely with project managers, customers, subcontractors, insurance representatives, building departments, and inspectors to keep projects moving efficiently from start to completion.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate project schedules, subcontractors, employees, inspections, and material deliveries Maintain project files, contracts, permits, plans, estimates, change orders, invoices, and other documentation Communicate professionally with customers, subcontractors, vendors, insurance adjusters, and city departments Assist with permit applications, plan-check corrections, inspection scheduling, and permit closeout Track project progress and follow up on outstanding items Request and organize subcontractor bids, proposals, invoices, and required documents Assist with material selections, ordering, and delivery coordination Prepare customer and project updates for the project management team Help identify scheduling conflicts, missing information, and potential delays Maintain accurate records of project communication and decisions Support multiple active projects at various stages of construction Visit job sites when needed to document progress and assist with project coordination Provide general administrative support to the project management team
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum two years of construction, restoration, remodeling, or project coordination experience Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities Clear and professional written and verbal communication Comfortable communicating with customers, subcontractors, inspectors, and insurance representatives Working knowledge of construction terminology and basic project sequencing Proficient with email, Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, and electronic file management Ability to learn and use construction management and estimating software Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel to Bay Area job sites Ability to work independently while also supporting a team
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Insurance restoration or property-damage reconstruction Permit processing and inspection coordination Reading construction plans, estimates, and scopes of work Change-order and subcontractor documentation Xactimate or construction-management software
