Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
True North Construction is seeking an experienced, tech-enabled Site Superintendent with a strong trades background to oversee daily field operations for our high-end custom residential projects in Central and Southern Marin County. We are looking for a true builder—someone who worked their way up through the ranks as a journeyman carpenter and understands ground-up framing, fine finish details, and trade sequencing. While this is primarily an on-site leadership and coordination role, you are expected to lead by example, work closely alongside our field crews and subcontractors, and step in hands-on when complex detail work or mockups require it. Working in tight partnership with our Project Management team, you will drive project success from groundbreaking through final client walkthrough—ensuring our job sites are safe, spotless, accurately built to plan, and running efficiently every day.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • On-Site Field Leadership:
Oversee daily site operations, internal crew members, and trade subcontractors to optimize daily productivity. Maintain active layout control, enforce site protection, hold weekly safety meetings, and maintain high site cleanliness standards.
  • Hands-On Quality Control:
Inspect foundation, structural, MEP, and finish carpentry work daily to resolve discrepancies early. Step in hands-on as needed to demonstrate standards, verify mockups, or resolve tricky assembly challenges.
  • Project Management Collaboration:
Partner closely with office Project Management to bridge the gap between office administration and field execution. Communicate daily site progress, track long-lead items, and provide site input on look-ahead schedules.
  • Proactive Plan & Technical Review:
Study architectural, structural, and trade plans in advance to verify accuracy and resolve layout or structural conflicts before trades arrive on-site.
•
Digital Field Administration:
Complete daily digital logs, verify crew time cards/cost coding, capture pre-cover site photos uploaded to cloud folders, and request material orders efficiently.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Trades-to-Superintendent Path:
8+ years of total hands-on residential construction experience, including a background as a Journeyman Carpenter, with 3+ years in a Site Superintendent or Field Lead role on custom homes.
  • Deep Residential Expertise:
Comprehensive knowledge of high-end custom home construction—from hillside foundations and structural framing to custom cabinetry and architectural finish trim.
  • Tech-Enabled:
Comfortable using mobile devices/tablets on-site for daily digital logs, photo uploads, cloud file access, and time tracking.
  • Leadership & Team Mentality:
Respected by subcontractors and crew members as a knowledgeable builder who manages firmly, fairly, and collaboratively.
•
Licensing & Location:
Valid CA Driver's License, clean driving record, and ability to commute reliably to active job sites in Central and Southern Marin County.
Pay:
$125,000.00
