We are seeking an experienced Underground Utilities Pipe Superintendent to oversee and manage all field operations related to underground utility installation projects. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of underground utility construction, and the ability to manage crews, schedules, safety, and production on multiple job sites. This position requires hands-on experience with water, sewer, and storm drainage systems, as well as the ability to coordinate with project managers, inspectors, subcontractors, and owners to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule. Responsibilities Supervise daily field operations for underground utility installation projects Manage pipe crews, operators, laborers, and subcontractors Oversee installation of storm drainage systems, water distribution systems, sanitary sewer systems, force mains, and structures & utility appurtenances Read and interpret blueprints, utility plans, grades, and specifications Coordinate equipment, materials, and manpower needs Ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget Maintain quality control and ensure work meets project specifications Enforce company safety policies and OSHA compliance Coordinate inspections with municipalities and engineers Track daily production and complete field reports Troubleshoot field conflicts and utility clashes Communicate effectively with project management and clients Qualifications 5+ years of underground utility construction experience 3+ years in a superintendent or foreman leadership role Strong knowledge of pipe installation methods, dewatering, excavation safety, utility testing procedures, and GPS & grade control systems Ability to read plans and understand elevations/layout Experience managing multiple crews and large-scale projects Valid driver's license required OSHA certification preferred CDL preferred but not required Skills Leadership and team management Scheduling and coordination Problem-solving in the field Strong communication skills Attention to detail Ability to work in fast-paced construction environments Work Environment Outdoor construction environment Heavy equipment and excavation operations Ability to work extended hours as needed to meet project schedules
