Our company specializes in commercial construction and interior buildouts throughout South Florida. We are looking for someone with a solid construction background who wants the opportunity to learn, grow, and eventually take on responsibility for managing projects. We are willing to train the right person. We do not expect you to know everything on day one. However, you must have previous commercial construction experience, understand the basic construction trades, and be comfortable reading construction plans. This is a hands-on position that involves both field and office work . You will work directly with our project management team and learn all aspects of managing commercial construction projects from preconstruction and permitting through construction and closeout. Responsibilities Assist Project Managers and Superintendents with day-to-day project management Visit and oversee active construction sites throughout South Florida Coordinate subcontractors, vendors and material deliveries Review architectural, structural and MEP construction drawings Monitor job progress, quality and schedules Assist with RFIs, change orders and subcontractor coordination Coordinate and track inspections Assist with punch lists and project closeout Communicate with subcontractors, clients, architects and inspectors Help resolve day-to-day field issues Assist with estimating, takeoffs and bidding as you gain experience Assist with permitting and building department coordination Learn our project management systems and eventually take on responsibility for running projects independently Requirements Commercial construction experience is required Must speak English and Spanish Must be able to read and understand construction plans Must have a working understanding of the major construction trades, including framing/drywall, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, flooring, painting, etc. Must be comfortable working both in the field and in an office environment Must be organized and able to handle multiple tasks and projects Must communicate well with subcontractors, clients and coworkers Must be dependable, motivated and willing to learn Must have a valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle Must be able to travel to job sites throughout Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties Truck or van preferred Company gas card will be provided for work-related driving Preferred Experience Experience in the following areas is a plus, but not required : Construction estimating and takeoffs Commercial permitting South Florida building departments and inspection processes Construction scheduling RFIs and change orders Project management software Managing subcontractors in the field Compensation & Growth Starting salary: $50,000-60,000 per year + company gas card. There is significant opportunity for advancement within the company. We are willing to invest time in training the right person and teach them our process for estimating, permitting, project management, scheduling and field supervision. As you gain experience and demonstrate the ability to take on additional responsibility, there will be opportunities for increased compensation and advancement into a Project Manager or Superintendent position . Pay:
