Job Description

BASCA's mission is to improve the quality of life for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities in Northeast Florida. Under the supervision of the Executive Director of Programs the Manager, Support Services & Training is responsible for administrative management of the Support Services department, following a person-centered approach and the coordination of the mandatory trainings, professional development required for the employees and the programs executed by BASCA. This role also assists in ensuring that programmatic documentation remains in compliance as defined by APD, Qlarant, etc.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Support Services Coordinate and schedule Direct Care Staff
  • Support Services to ensure program implementation for individuals in the Support Services department.
Organize intake of new clients. Maintain participant records and program documentation according to organizational and state guidelines (annual permission forms, implementation plans, quarterly and annual summaries.) Facilitate and attend staff meetings. Be on-call two weekends per month. Be on-call on weekdays after regular office hours to resolve scheduling conflicts as needed. Act as the point of contact between clients' families and staff. Training Coordinate the mandatory training and professional development of BASCA employees, including Direct Care Core Competencies, Zero Tolerance, HIPPA, CPR/First Aide, MANDT, In-Service Training, etc. ensuring all staff are up to date and in compliance with APD and BASCA policies. Coordinate with in-house training and trainers (Driver Training, Medication Administration Training, Bloodborne Pathogens/HIV, Incident Reports, Person-Centered Approaches, Implementation Plans). Maintain certification as a MANDT trainer and perform MANDT training with the necessary Direct Care Staff. Maintain training records/files, certifications, and required documentation according to company and state regulations. Provide Training Certificates to staff as needed and in accordance with BASCA policies. Provide the Executive Director of Programs with all training documentation necessary for annual licensure, recertification, and any monthly compliance inspections conducted by APD and/or Qlarant. Proactively communicate training needs with managers to prevent non-compliance or gaps in training. Act as a point of contact between BASCA employees and trainers. Assist Program Directors (Residential, Day Program and Support Services) in preparation for audits, reviews, and licensure renewals. Ensure that program staff is completing accurate and timely records for all individuals, including financial records, medical records, and programmatic records. Perform other duties as assigned. Assist with the management, supervision, and scheduling of staff at assigned home to ensure that caring and responsible supervision and program implementation is provided to all residents of the home. Provide support and assistance with activities of daily living to residents of the home. Provide transportation as needed for the residents to the day program and other community outings. Conduct monthly house meetings with individuals to develop community calendars, house rules and responsibilities, and to gauge individual satisfaction. Accompany and assist individuals with necessary medical appointments, and complete post-appointment paperwork Implement individuals' support plans as written. Ensure completion and maintenance of all necessary documentation as required by law. Provide and seek out opportunities for individuals in the home to make choices. Administer medication in accordance with medical provider directions and BASCA policies. Attend staff meetings, as well as client support plan and implementation plan meetings. Organize outings for individuals, ensuring that each individual has the opportunity to engage in activities of their choice
  • and assure that residents' requests for religious observation are met.
Monitor individuals' finances, and assist individuals with personal purchases, while keeping accurate records and receipts. Establish productive relationships with community-based resources, individuals' families and guardians. Receive training in accordance with the Medicaid Waiver Handbook requirements within required timeframes. Perform other duties as assigned. Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience in related field. Previous administrative experience Previous Management Experience 2+ years' experience working with individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities Meets state requirements for Background Screening. Pass local and state background checks Pass pre-employment drug screening
