Marion, IN Position Summary:

B2 Constructors is a service-disabled veteran-owned (SDVOSB), multi-state licensed general and mechanical contractor. We are seeking an experienced Sitework Construction Superintendent to lead daily field operations for a paving, concrete, and site preparation project at the Gainesville Veterans Affairs Medical Center. The Superintendent serves as B2's onsite representative and safety lead, managing subcontractors, quality, schedule, communication, and project documentation while maintaining a safe worksite in an active hospital environment. Key Responsibilities Lead and coordinate subcontractors and daily construction activities; monitor project schedules, address delays, and ensure work meets plans and specifications. Oversee site safety, conduct audits and daily safety/progress meetings, and enforce project safety plans and worksite security requirements. Maintain detailed daily progress reports with photos, accurate timesheets, current construction drawings, revision logs, as-builts, RFIs, and punch lists. Coordinate with the owner, engineer, subcontractors, and B2's home office; attend or lead onsite meetings and resolve field issues proactively. Oversee deliveries, track discrepancies and change orders, monitor workmanship and quality, and support commissioning, training, and turnover. Ensure strict adherence to the construction phasing plan to minimize disruption and protect hospital patients, staff, and visitors. Required Qualifications 10+ years of relevant commercial/industrial construction experience, including highway-related or sitework construction. Hands-on knowledge of site preparation, concrete, paving, striping, electrical, maintenance of traffic, landscaping, and general construction trades. Excellent communication, organization, attention to detail, and ability to independently lead a safe, productive site. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project; ability to produce thorough daily reports and photographs. OSHA 30 training, or ability to complete the certification within 7 days of hire; willingness to undergo a background investigation and drug screening.

Preferred Qualification:

Federal government or VA hospital general contracting experience, including VA safety standards and procedures; 7+ years of project management experience. Project & Work Conditions Scope includes asphalt milling/paving, striping, concrete demolition and installation (including structural concrete), handrails, minor landscaping, exterior lighting, and temporary fencing. Careful sequencing and strict adherence to the project schedule are essential in this active VA medical center. No travel outside the Gainesville area is expected; occasional overtime or off-hours work may be required. Competitive compensation offered.
