Hiring Agency Justice & Public Safety Cabinet | Kentucky State Police Location 919 Versailles Road Frankfort, KY 40601 USA Description Kentucky State Police is the premier, full-service law enforcement agency in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. With the highest level of professionalism and integrity the Kentucky State Police works to prevent, reduce, and deter crime and the fear of crime; enhance highway safety through education and enforcement; protect and safeguard individual rights; and provide leadership, training, technical, and operational support to the criminal justice community. This position is responsible for the management and coordination of capital projects for major construction, repairs, and improvements of agency owned facilities located throughout the Commonwealth. These facilities include 16 Posts, the Training Academy, office buildings, and various structures.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervises, coordinates, and reviews the design and construction of agency Capital Construction and Maintenance Projects. Coordinates and monitors critical project timeframes, plans, and schedules, and coordinates project personnel or consultants. Participates in scope of work development for new projects and provides information for required reports or inquiries related to construction projects. Plans, oversees, evaluates, and monitors progress of Capital Project construction tasks, reviews certification of tests and inspections, scheduling, and project cost estimates and revisions in eComm. Acts as the liaison between the Kentucky State Police and the Department of Engineering and Construction and Real Properties (DECA), as well as design and contracting firms. Develops and maintains project documentation, reviews proposed plans and drawings, reviews scope of work documents, cost estimates, and budgetary information. Coordinates with the agency Budget Branch for Capital Construction and Maintenance Projects.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Proficiency and experience in eComm. Good time management and organizational skills. Proficiency and experience in Microsoft Excel and Word. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills. EDUCATION

Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS

Six years of experience as construction estimator, general contractor, architect, engineer, construction superintendent, in construction trades or in supervising one or more trades crews in major construction, or major renovation or major maintenance repair projects. Substitute
