CAREER OPPORTUNITY ASSISTANT PRECONSTRUCTION MANAGER

Position Summary The Assistant Preconstruction Manager develops conceptual, negotiated, and competitive-bid estimates and works closely with Project Management, support teams, clients, designers, and trade partners to produce precise, well-supported budgets. The position reports to Broadmoor's Director of Preconstruction and may provide direction to interns or other supporting personnel as needed.

Exempt. What You Will Do Estimate and forecast
Assist in forecasting the cost, size, scope, and duration of future construction projects. Plan project approach
Partner with Project Management to develop initial sequencing and identify labor, material, and equipment requirements. Perform quantity surveys
Read and interpret construction drawings, prepare detailed quantity takeoffs, and assemble bid packages for subcontractor pricing and contract development. Build project budgets
Develop detailed estimate spreadsheets and support the transfer of approved budgets into project-management systems. Analyze bids and support buyout
Evaluate subcontractor proposals, identify scope gaps, compare pricing, and assist with project buyout. Qualifications Education
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience. Experience
Two or more years of professional experience in the architecture, engineering, or construction industry, preferably with a general contractor or subcontractor. Estimating knowledge
Ability to read construction documents, perform detailed quantity takeoffs, analyze subcontractor bids, and develop clear, accurate estimates. Technology
Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, plus proficiency with relevant estimating and document-review tools. Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, and Adobe Acrobat is valued. Communication and organization
Excellent written and verbal communication, attention to detail, sound judgment, initiative, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines and collaborate effectively.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation. The role regularly involves sitting, standing, walking, speaking, hearing, using a computer, and occasionally lifting or moving office equipment up to 20 pounds.
