Field Staff Direct Care Pay:
$20.00 to $22.00 per hour, with higher rates available for positions supporting individuals with more complex needs. Job Description The Arc of Greater Haverhill-Newburyport is looking for Field Staff to work one-to-one with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Field Staff provide individualized support based on each person's needs and goals, helping them build or maintain skills, make progress in areas that matter to them, and take part in meaningful activities and opportunities. The day-to-day work will look different for each person based on their needs, goals, and the services they receive. This may include supporting community involvement, building and practicing daily living skills, attending appointments, completing essential errands, navigating transportation, working toward employment or vocational goals, accessing resources, and developing skills in other areas that are important to the individual. Field Staff typically provide one-to-one support in the community or at home while working closely with a Support Supervisor through regular communication and supervision. This role requires someone who can build a positive relationship with the person they support while providing guidance, encouragement, and assistance based on their individual needs. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with the individual, family, and supervisor to develop a consistent weekly schedule of meaningful activities that support the individual's goals. Work with the individual to build and practice skills using established teaching methods and strategies. Maintain regular contact with your supervisor and communicate changes or concerns as they arise. Complete weekly progress notes and require monthly documentation accurately and on time. Participate in regular in-person supervision and annual Individual Support Plan meetings. Complete required trainings, maintain certifications, and follow agency and program requirements. What We're Looking For We are looking for people who are dependable, flexible, and able to build positive relationships. Field Staff need strong communication and problem-solving skills, good judgment, and the ability to adapt their approach based on each person's needs and situation. Previous experience working with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities is valued, but it is not required. Some of our staff bring years of experience, while others come to The Arc looking for their first opportunity in human services or a career change. About Us The Arc of Greater Haverhill-Newburyport's mission is to Advocate, Educate, and Explore Opportunities for Personal Growth and Fulfillment. For more than 60 years, The Arc has worked alongside people with disabilities and their families throughout the Greater Haverhill-Newburyport community.
