Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a licensed residential general contractor to help manage new home construction in Norwell, who has a minimum of 5 years experience. The GC will coordinate subcontractors, permits, inspections, materials, and timelines, and will report to the project manager and project owner. Duties Coordinate, schedule, and oversee subcontractors and suppliers across construction trades. Develop and maintain project timelines, track milestones, and address delays. Apply for and coordinate building permits and required inspections with the Norwell Building Department. Review construction plans, specifications, and project requirements throughout construction. Coordinate site preparation, foundations, framing, roofing, mechanical systems, interior finishes, and final punch lists. Monitor workmanship, job-site safety, materials, and construction progress; identify issues early and coordinate solutions. Provide regular progress updates, upcoming decisions, and schedule changes to the project manager and project owner. Attend daily construction coordination and weekly construction and marketing meetings. Maintain records for permits, inspections, schedules, change orders, and subcontractors; help deliver homes to approved plans and specifications Required qualifications Active Massachusetts Construction Supervisor License (CSL) appropriate to the project and accepted by the Norwell Building Department. Minimum of five years of residential building experience, including new construction from site work through completion. Ability to coordinate permit applications and required inspections. Proven experience scheduling and managing subcontractors across multiple trades. Strong understanding of residential plans, construction sequencing, materials, and quality standards. Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, current general liability insurance, and workers' compensation coverage as applicable. Professional references from residential construction projects. Preferred qualifications Experience managing several homes or projects at once; familiarity with Norwell and South Shore permitting and inspections; and experience with construction schedules, budgets, and change orders.
