Job Description

Electrical SuperintendentPosition OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Electrical Superintendent to lead electrical construction activities across commercial and industrial projects. The Electrical Superintendent will oversee on-site electrical installation, coordinate with project managers and subcontractors, enforce safety and quality standards, and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Ideal candidates have hands-on electrical knowledge, proven experience managing electrical projects, and a strong background in construction supervision.

Key ResponsibilitiesLead and supervise all on-site electrical work including installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of power distribution, lighting, controls, and low-voltage systems.

Coordinate daily activities of electricians, subcontractors, and laborers; assign tasks, monitor progress, and maintain productivity to meet schedule milestones.

Interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications; ensure work complies with plans, codes, and regulations (NEC and local codes).Develop and maintain project schedules, track labor and material needs, and provide regular status reports to project management.

Enforce site safety programs and OSHA best practices; conduct toolbox talks, safety inspections, and incident investigations.

Collaborate with project engineers, general contractors, and clients to resolve technical issues, coordinate sequencing, and manage change orders.

Review and verify material submittals, pull lists, and equipment deliveries; minimize rework through quality control inspections.

Mentor and train on-site electrical staff; promote continuous improvement and adherence to best construction practices.

Manage punch lists, closeout documentation, as-built drawings, and turnover to the client upon project completion.

QualificationsJourneyman or Master Electrician certification preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience in electrical trades.5+ years of progressive experience in electrical construction with at least 2 years in a superintendent or lead supervisory role on electrical projects.

Proven experience managing electrical projects in construction environments, including commercial, industrial, or institutional sites.

Strong knowledge of electrical systems, NEC requirements, conduit bending, wiring methods, motor controls, and instrumentation.

Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.

Experience with project scheduling, resource planning, estimating, and working with project management software.

Commitment to safety with experience enforcing safety programs, conducting inspections, and maintaining compliance with OSHA and company policies.

Valid drivers license; ability to work in varied environments and travel between job sites as required.
