Our Mountain West division specializes in ultra-luxury custom residences, typically ranging from $5 million to $15 million+, featuring distinctive architecture, sophisticated finishes, complex construction details, and exceptional craftsmanship. We are committed to delivering one-of-a-kind residences that complement Montana's remarkable natural surroundings while maintaining the highest standards of construction quality, client service, and professionalism. Position Overview STOCK Custom Homes is seeking an experienced Custom Home Construction Superintendent to join our team in the Flathead Valley. Our projects range in location between Whitefish and Lakeside, MT. This position offers the opportunity to oversee the construction of extraordinary custom residences within premier luxury residential communities in Northwest Montana. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing high-end custom residential construction, possess a strong understanding of complex building systems and architectural details, and demonstrate the leadership necessary to manage skilled trade partners through every phase of construction. Unlike traditional production homebuilding, our projects demand a hands-on, detail-oriented approach with a strong emphasis on quality, craftsmanship, coordination, and execution. We are seeking a construction professional who takes pride in their work, maintains exceptionally high standards, and understands the expectations associated with building multimillion-dollar custom residences. Key Responsibilities Construction Management & Execution Oversee daily field operations for assigned ultra-luxury custom home projects from site preparation through final completion and homeowner turnover. Manage all phases of construction, ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, on schedule, within budget, and to STOCK's quality standards. Develop and maintain detailed construction schedules, coordinating subcontractors, vendors, material deliveries, and inspections to ensure consistent project progression. Proactively identify potential construction conflicts, scheduling challenges, and coordination issues before they impact project execution. Maintain a thorough understanding of all architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and interior design documents. Coordinate complex architectural details, specialty materials, and custom installations to ensure proper execution in the field. Quality Control & Craftsmanship Maintain exceptional quality standards throughout every phase of construction, with a particular focus on architectural detailing, precision, and finish craftsmanship. Perform daily jobsite inspections to verify quality, progress, plan compliance, and adherence to established construction standards. Coordinate closely with architects, engineers, interior designers, and specialty consultants to resolve design and constructability challenges. Ensure all installations comply with approved construction documents, applicable building codes, manufacturer requirements, and project specifications. Identify and resolve deficiencies proactively rather than allowing corrective work to accumulate toward project completion. Lead thorough pre-completion inspections and punch-list processes to ensure residences are delivered to the highest standards. Trade Partner & Project Coordination Direct and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and specialty trades, establishing clear expectations for quality, performance, scheduling, and jobsite professionalism. Build and maintain strong working relationships with highly skilled trade partners and vendors. Hold trade partners accountable for contractual obligations, workmanship, safety, and schedule commitments. Conduct regular jobsite coordination meetings to communicate upcoming activities, identify potential conflicts, and maintain project momentum. Coordinate with project management and procurement teams to ensure timely material selections, ordering, and deliveries. Collaborate closely with internal leadership to maintain accurate project schedules, progress updates, and cost awareness. Jobsite Management & Safety Maintain clean, organized, secure, and professionally managed construction sites reflective of the caliber of homes being built. Enforce OSHA requirements, company safety policies, and applicable local regulations. Coordinate site logistics, access, deliveries, equipment, and subcontractor activities within active luxury residential communities. Implement and maintain proper erosion control, stormwater management, and environmental protection measures. Plan and execute construction activities with consideration for Northwest Montana's seasonal weather conditions, winter construction requirements, and mountainous terrain. Communication & Client Experience Communicate effectively and professionally with company leadership, homeowners, architects, designers, consultants, and trade partners. Provide timely and accurate updates regarding construction progress, scheduling, quality concerns, and potential project challenges. Assist with homeowner walkthroughs, inspections, and final project turnover. Maintain thorough project documentation, daily field reports, inspection records, and scheduling updates using company construction management software. Represent STOCK Custom Homes with professionalism and a commitment to delivering an exceptional client experience. Proven experience managing complex custom residential projects, preferably homes valued at $5 million or more. Strong understanding of high-end residential construction methods, sequencing, materials, building systems, and quality-control procedures. Ability to read, interpret, and coordinate detailed architectural, structural, and MEP construction documents. Experience managing multiple subcontractors and specialty trades in a demanding custom construction environment. Strong organizational, scheduling, problem-solving, and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to maintain high standards of workmanship while meeting project schedules and budget objectives. Proficiency with construction management software and standard digital reporting tools. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Preferred Qualifications Experience constructing ultra-luxury homes valued between $5 million and $15 million+. Experience working with custom architectural features, premium exterior materials, specialty glazing systems, complex roof assemblies, advanced mechanical systems, and high-end interior finishes. Experience coordinating directly with architects, interior designers, structural engineers, and specialty consultants.
