Job Description

An Assistant Superintendent is a senior field management role that supports the Superintendent in overseeing the planning, execution, and compliance of construction or operational projects. The role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to coordinate complex teams and processes.
Core Duties and Responsibilities Project Oversight & Planning:
Assist in planning, scheduling, and implementing project timelines to meet deadlines.
Team & Resource Management:
Coordinate and supervise construction workers, subcontractors, and other project personnel; assign and delegate tasks.
Compliance & Safety:
Ensure adherence to building codes, engineering standards, and safety regulations; conduct safety meetings and inspections.
Quality Control:
Perform inspections to verify work meets contract specifications and quality standards.
Budget & Schedule Management:
Monitor budgets, manage material deliveries, and adjust schedules based on productivity feedback.
Problem Solving:
Identify and resolve issues promptly, including labor, scheduling, and compliance challenges.
Client & Stakeholder Relations:
Represent the company professionally in meetings with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
Documentation:
Maintain project logs, daily reports, and compliance records.
Required Skills & Qualifications Education:
Degree in construction management, engineering, or related field; or equivalent hands-on experience.
Experience:
Typically 3+ years in construction management, foremanship, or related roles.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency with project management software.
Certifications:
OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, and relevant trade knowledge.
Soft Skills:
Strong communication, leadership, problem-solving, and teamwork. In summary, an Assistant Superintendent blends technical construction expertise with administrative leadership, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.
Pay:
$30.00 - $37.00 per hour
