Position Requirement:

This is a traveling position. Employees must be willing and able to travel to Lawing and Son project sites as assigned. Project locations and duration of assignments may vary.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Communicates and enforces safety procedures and site rules Some communication with clients, engineers, and inspectors in a respectful and positive manner

Duties/Responsibilities:

Manages daily tasks of assigned crew Communicates needs and issues with the Superintendent Tracks and reports daily progress Takes inventory, reads grade stakes, calculates slope, and elevations Oversees the safety of employees Adheres to L&S and OSHA Safety requirements Understands where to find information in plans/specs Oversees the use and maintenance of equipment and trucks within their crews Ensures that all work completed by the crews is up to L&S quality standards and the standards of the client/project Motivates and ensures the team is engaged and focused on achieving project goals

Required Skills/Abilities:

Great verbal and written communication skills Ability to work under pressure Ability to oversee and coordinate a variety of people in different roles Extremely detailoriented Ability to read, understand, and execute blueprints, drawings, and plans Thorough understanding of safety requirements related to construction and building sites (ex. OSHA regulations) Ability to quickly identify problems and efficiently solve them Efficient in all aspects of GPS equipment Ability to efficiently operate heavy machinery Ability to listen, understand, and follow directions Ability to remain flexible as specific assignments change Ability to adapt to all team dynamics Maintain a positive team attitude and open communication Trainings provided: OSHA 30 Hazwhoper 40

Trenching & Shoring Certification First Aid/ CPR Erosion Control Certification Education and Experience:

Associate's degree in construction management, Construction science, Business administration, Accounting, related degrees, and/or equivalent work experience At least two years of experience as a civil construction foreman Prior job experience in heavy civil construction required Valid driver's license CDL license preferred

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time, operating heavy machinery, and in all terrains Must have physical strength, balance, handeye coordination, and stamina necessary to complete jobs in various conditions Must be able to stand and walk at least 8 hours per day Lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and push and pull 50pound loads Must be able to work in all weather conditions About Lawing & Son Site Contractor L&S Site Contractor is a heavy civil construction company specializing in site development, environmental construction, renewable energy projects, and commercial site work.
