ROLE DESCRIPTION
Josh Landscape Co. is hiring a highly qualified Project Manager for our Design/Build division — the person who provides the critical bridge translating design concepts into masterfully constructed landscapes. You will own the project from the first client walk-through to the last punch list item: oversee specialized crews, one sequence, one point of contact the client trusts the whole way through. This is a field role, not a desk job. Before mobilization begins you're reviewing the plans for buildability — confirming elevations and benchmark datums are set, quantities are right, and the bill of materials and estimation sheets are complete — so your crews aren't solving on site what could have been solved on paper. From there you set project expectations, daily goals, keep the work on sequence and on budget, and coach skilled tradesmen who take pride in getting it right the first time. If you know hardscape and site construction, can hold crews to a production goal without losing them, and want a company that's building its systems the right way rather than the fast way, we should talk.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Review designs, plans, and specifications for completeness and buildability before work begins — confirming elevations and benchmark datum points, quantities, bill of materials, and estimation sheets. Understand the design and the intent behind it, and know what the contract commits us to beyond the design itself. Serve as the primary client contact for the full project term, from the first on-site walk-through through final punch list and closeout. Manage 4 crews of approximately 15 skilled tradesmen, including masons and carpenters. Set crew expectations in advance and align daily goals to the overall project sequence. Review job performance using job costing data and course-correct while the job is still open. Ensure all materials are ordered on time, within the budgeted allotment, and at the right price. Train, coach, and mentor crews — build the skill on the team, not just the finished project. Generate and process change orders, whether design-initiated or client-initiated. Communicate daily with designers on job performance, field conditions, and timelines. Drive on-time job closeout.
QUALIFICATIONS
Project or site management experience in landscape design/build, hardscape, masonry, retaining wall and site structures, planting, or comparable field construction. Able to read and interpret site plans, grading and elevation drawings, and bills of material. Working knowledge of hardscape and masonry construction methods and quality standards. Plant identification knowledge with specifics on planting techniques and standards. Proven experience running multiple crews at once and holding them to daily production goals. Comfortable using job costing to evaluate performance and make decisions mid-project. Strong client-facing communication — able to run a walk-through, set expectations, and handle a change order conversation. A coaching mindset and a real interest in developing tradesmen. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
