Supervisor - Geauga County About Clear Skies Ahead Clear Skies Ahead, LLC is a DODD-certified agency provider serving children and adults with developmental disabilities throughout Geauga and Trumbull Counties . Since 2014, Clear Skies Ahead has provided individualized supports designed to help people live happy, healthy lives in their own homes and communities. Our services include Homemaker/Personal Care (HPC) and Non-Medical Transportation (NMT), among other services . The people we support have a wide range of needs and levels of independence, from individuals receiving a few hours of support each week to those requiring 24-hour supports. Our focus is on providing dependable, person-centered services while protecting each individual's rights, choices, independence, health, and safety. We are currently seeking a Supervisor of DSP supports in Geauga County . Position Summary The Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of assigned individuals and the Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) who provide their services. This is a hands-on management position requiring strong organization, communication, problem-solving, and follow-through. The Supervisor works closely with individuals, guardians and families, DSPs, county board staff, medical providers, and other members of each person's team. Supervisors are responsible for ensuring services are properly staffed, DSPs understand and follow each individual's plan, required documentation is completed, and concerns affecting an individual's health, safety, rights, or services are addressed promptly. The position also includes participation in the agency's management team and after-hours on-call responsibilities. Key ResponsibilitiesStaff Supervision & Scheduling Supervise, train, coach, and support assigned DSPs. Develop and maintain DSP schedules and respond to call-offs, staffing changes, and coverage needs. Monitor employee performance, attendance, training, and compliance with agency expectations. Complete performance evaluations and address performance concerns as needed. Work with other supervisors, management, and HR to resolve staffing and employee issues. Individual Services & Quality Oversee services for assigned individuals and ensure DSPs understand and follow each person's ISP, routines, risks, behavioral supports, medical needs, rights, preferences, and goals. Maintain regular contact with individuals and conduct site visits as needed. Monitor the quality and consistency of services and address concerns involving health, safety, rights, staffing, or service delivery. Promote independence, choice, dignity, community involvement, and individual rights. Participate in ISP and team meetings and coordinate with guardians, families, SSAs, medical providers, and other members of the individual's team. Documentation & Compliance Monitor service documentation, incident reports, staff records, and Sandata Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness. Ensure services comply with individual plans, Clear Skies Ahead policies, Medicaid requirements, and applicable Ohio DODD rules. Ensure incidents are properly identified, reported, documented, and followed up on. Assist with internal reviews, county board and DODD compliance activities, prevention plans, corrective actions, and staff retraining as needed. Management & On-Call Responsibilities Participate in CSA management meetings, agency planning, and required training. Work cooperatively with other supervisors, the Program Manager, HR, and agency administration. Maintain organized records, communicate significant concerns, and meet established deadlines. Participate in the supervisor on-call rotation, responding to after-hours and weekend staffing issues, emergencies, and other situations requiring supervisory assistance. Use company-issued phones and approved agency communication methods for work-related communication. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED. At least one year of supervisory, management, or lead experience . Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record ( 3 points or less ). Reliable transportation and current automobile insurance. Ability to travel throughout Geauga County and to other CSA locations when necessary. Strong organizational, time-management, written, and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple employees, schedules, priorities, and deadlines. Basic computer and smartphone skills, including email, Microsoft Word, internet-based systems, and electronic documentation. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries. Ability to respond appropriately to emergencies and make sound decisions. Ability to successfully complete required criminal background checks, driver record review, and agency-required drug screening. Ability to meet all DODD and Clear Skies Ahead employment and training requirements. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities. Experience supervising DSPs or employees providing community-based services. Knowledge of Ohio DODD waiver services and requirements. Experience with ISPs, service documentation, incident reporting, and EVV. CPR/First Aid certification. Experience with positive behavior supports or other behavioral support strategies. Training Clear Skies Ahead provides required agency and DODD training. Supervisors are responsible for completing and maintaining all required training and certifications, including CPR/First Aid, individual rights, MUI/UI requirements, mandated reporting, person-specific training, emergency preparedness, and other required annual training. What We Are Looking For We are looking for someone who is dependable, organized, and comfortable taking responsibility for both people and details. Our supervisors need to build positive relationships with DSPs while still holding employees accountable. They must be willing to address problems, communicate clearly with individuals, families, employees, and team members, and understand the importance of reliable staffing, accurate documentation, and consistent follow-through.
