D&A also has a guardrail division. We need an experienced general construction superintendent for our road building division.
Who you are:
You know dirt and pipe.
You have:
run the equipment; trained others; and delivered your projects on time in a safe manner. You can look at native ground and plans and see in your mind's eye what the project will be when "all is said and done". You've managed multiple crews and projects at the same time.
The skills needed:
Able to communicate and coordinate labor, equipment and materials Identify obstacles and provide solutions Maintain a daily log or diary Able to train and evaluate new laborers and operators Able to communicate with project management staff Ability to manage subcontractors and keep them on schedule You should be very familiar with: Cut/fill earthwork operations Installation of different types of pipe and conduit Reading and interpreting plans Reading and understanding soil reports and project specifications Dust Control requirements and best practices State, City of Portland, Multnomah County, etc. plans and specifications
Additional Requirements:
This is a safety-sensitive position which requires operating company vehicles and equipment. You must be able to pass a drug and alcohol test pre-employment. Then, many of the projects we work on require such testing before and during the project. You must be able to pass a alcohol and drug test at any time. You must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, sit, stand, kneel, walk in rough, uneven terrain and work in all weather conditions.
Minimum Qualifications:
At least 3 years of previous construction supervision experience and the ability to travel within a 50 mile radius of our office although most of our work is within 35 miles.
