Job Description

Job Overview Seeking an experienced and dependable Commercial Construction Superintendent to oversee day-to-day field operations on commercial construction projects. In this role, you will coordinate all on-site activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction practices, be able to effectively manage, ensure compliance with safety standards, and deliver projects on time and within budget. Duties Oversee daily construction site operations, ensuring work progresses according to project plans, schedules, and safety standards. Manage and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and construction crews to ensure high-quality work and adherence to project specifications. Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and construction documents to facilitate accurate execution of work. Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or similar construction management software; coordinate schedule updates regularly. Monitor project budgets, track costs, and implement cost control measures to keep projects within financial targets. Enforce OSHA regulations and federal safety standards; conduct safety meetings, inspections, and training sessions to promote a safe work environment. Review contracts, change orders, and submittals; ensure compliance with all contractual obligations and construction regulations. Utilize tools like ProCore, Bluebeam, Prolog, HeavyBid, and Ohmmeter for project documentation, quality control, and technical assessments. Conduct regular site inspections to review construction drawing accuracy, quality control measures, and progress milestones. Lead project meetings with clients, architects, engineers, and team members to communicate progress updates and resolve issues promptly. Skills Read, understand, and interpret construction plans, specifications, and details. Coordinate and supervise laborers, subcontractors, vendors, and daily jobsite activities. Maintain project schedules and coordinate work to meet required deadlines. Perform material takeoffs and assist with estimating material quantities and project needs. Plan and coordinate material, equipment, and manpower requirements. Monitor workmanship to ensure construction meets plans, specifications, and quality standards. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized jobsite and enforce applicable safety requirements. Conduct daily site inspections and identify potential problems before they affect the project schedule. Coordinate with project managers regarding scheduling, materials, change orders, field conditions, and project progress. Maintain accurate daily reports, including manpower, work completed, deliveries, weather conditions, delays, and other relevant jobsite information. Communicate professionally with owners, inspectors, subcontractors, suppliers, and other project stakeholders. Assist with punch lists and project closeout. Qualifications Previous experience as a superintendent, foreman, or similar leadership position in commercial construction. Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications. Knowledge of commercial construction methods, materials, sequencing, and jobsite operations. Experience in estimating material quantities and coordinating material orders. Strong leadership and labor supervision skills. Ability to organize multiple trades and maintain construction schedules. Strong problem-solving and communication skills. Working knowledge of OSHA and general construction safety requirements. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to work independently and take responsibility for daily field operations. Spanish speaking preferred
Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
