Landscape Construction Project Manager Theiss Landscape Works - Waller / Northwest Houston, TX Full-Time | Field & Office-Based Management Position

Theiss Landscape Works is looking for an experienced Landscape Construction Project Manager to oversee multiple landscape construction projects and lead our field foremen and crews. This is a hands-on field production role—not a traditional construction PM position focused primarily on scheduling and managing subcontractors. We self-perform the majority of our work with our own employees. Because of this, our Project Manager is directly responsible for crew productivity, quality, training, planning, and execution. You will oversee multiple active projects and spend a significant amount of time in the field working directly with foremen and crews. We need someone who can walk onto a jobsite, understand what needs to happen next, recognize problems, evaluate whether the crew is working efficiently, and help the foreman successfully execute the project. Key Responsibilities Lead, coach, train, and hold field foremen accountable Help foremen plan and line out daily and weekly productionMonitor labor productivity, efficiency, quality, and project schedules Identify when projects are falling behind and determine why Review plans, scopes, elevations, layouts, and construction details Provide field guidance involving grading, drainage, irrigation, planting, sod, lighting, hardscape, and other landscape construction Ensure work meets company quality and installation standards Coordinate with our Project Coordinator on materials, equipment, deliveries, subcontractors, and scheduling Identify problems early and help foremen develop solutions Train field employees and improve installation methods and efficiency Perform quality-control inspections throughout each project Communicate project progress and major issues to company leadership Effective leadership will mean getting your hands dirty—helping establish a layout or grade, demonstrating an installation method, troubleshooting a problem, or working alongside a foreman to teach a better way to accomplish the work. Minimum Qualifications 5+ years of landscape construction or closely related construction experience 2+ years of field leadership experience as a Foreman, Superintendent, Production Manager, Project Manager, or similar Experience directly managing in-house field employees and crews Proven ability to manage and improve labor productivity and crew efficiency Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, jobsite planning, and quality control Ability to read and understand plans, elevations, measurements, and scopes of work Working knowledge of grading, drainage, irrigation, planting, sod, hardscape, and related landscape construction Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record Bilingual English/Spanish is a strong plus What Success Looks Like A successful Project Manager doesn't just find and fix problems. Projects should stay on schedule and budget, quality should remain high, and problems should be identified before they become expensive.
