Annual Salary Range:

$76,800 - $113,200 The successful candidate's placement in the salary range will depend upon previous experience in a similar role. RC#902505 DESCRIPTION / ESSENTIAL

FUNCTIONS

This position reviews residential and commercial construction plans and specifications to ensure compliance with building codes and safety regulations. Performs with limited supervisory oversight and may provide guidance to lower-level staff. Duties include, but are not limited to the following: Reviews plans and specifications for residential, commercial, industrial and multi-family projects to determine compliance with applicable building codes and safety regulations. ¿Issues correction notices for deficiencies or code violations in plan submissions Provides feedback and guidance to applicants regarding outstanding correction items ¿¿Prepare documents for permits to be issued. Maintains accurate records of reviewed plans ¿Coordinates with other departments to address any interdepartmental concerns or comments Confers with applicants, architects, engineers, contractors, owners, etc. on proposed projects to resolve issues. Provides technical information and recommendations during plan review ¿May provide guidance/training to lower-level staff May perform responsibilities of a similar nature and level as assigned

REQUIREMENTS
Experience:

Three (3) years of experience ¿in construction plan review, building code enforcement or inspections or related experience. Candidates must have the minimum amount of work experience. Years of experience are based upon a full-time work schedule (2,080 hours per year). The sum of an applicant's full-time and/or part-time qualifying work experience must meet or exceed the stated minimum qualification. Education will not substitute for the required work experience; however, related unpaid and/or volunteer work experience may be used as qualifying work experience.

Education:

Bachelor's degree Professional Licensure and/or

Certifications:

¿¿ International Code Council (ICC) Building Plans Examiner (B3) certification¿ ¿¿Two (2) ICC certifications

• or a Master Code Professional (MCP) or Certified Building Official (CBO) designation ¿

•Eligible ICC certifications: Residential Plans Examiner, Electrical Plans Examiner, Plumbing Plans Examiner, Mechanical Plans Examiner, Combination Plans Examiner, Commercial or Residential Building Inspector, Commercial or Residential Electrical Inspector, Commercial or Residential Plumbing Inspector, Commercial or Residential Mechanical Inspector, Commercial or Residential Combination Inspector. ¿The following can substitute for one (1) of the additional required ICC certifications: a licensed Engineer or licensed Architect designation.¿
