City of Macomb - Community Development The City of Macomb, Illinois, is hiring a Full-Time Rental Inspector for the Office of Community Development.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct inspections of residential rental properties to ensure compliance with applicable codes and ordinances Issue notices of violations, conduct follow-up inspections, and assist with enforcement activities Respond to inquiries from tenants, landlords, contractors, and the public regarding rental and property maintenance requirements Maintain accurate inspection records, rental registrations, reports, and departmental documentation Assist with permits, payments, code enforcement complaints, and other Community Development operations

Requirements:

Two years of experience in inspections, construction, remodeling, property maintenance, or related field preferred Working knowledge of property maintenance, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems preferred Strong communication, customer service, conflict resolution, and organizational skills Valid Illinois driver's license and residency within McDonough County required
