Natchitoches Parish:
The overall function of this position is to perform sub professional tasks and oversee construction projects to which assigned. This position is located in the District 08/ Unit 218 of the Department of Transportation and Development. The incumbent must be self-motivated and be able to perform duties many times without supervision or with minimal supervision and also be able to interpret unforeseen conditions as they may arise. The incumbent will participate in DOTD structured training programs as appropriate and attend all continuing education classes and conferences deemed necessary to facilitate the performance of required tasks. While in official capacity, DOTD employees must comply with applicable Louisiana and Civil Service laws, rules and regulations, as well as DOTD policies, procedures, manuals, and directives. Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties:
Serves as lead worker over lower level construction inspectors. Reviews plans, specifications and contract on assigned project to verify that the contractor's personnel are in compliance. Compiles the required field data and reports in preparing partial estimates on assigned project. Performs leadership duties in assisting subordinates on assigned projects in sampling and testing of construction items. May be required to lift items up to 50 pounds. May be required to perform duties in extreme weather conditions.
