Job Overview Property Pros is a nationwide field services company. Mortgage servicers and insurance carriers contract us when they need verified, documented eyes on a residential property — occupancy status, exterior condition, damage confirmation, and photo documentation they can rely on. We're currently expanding our inspector network and assigning new territories. The role As a Field Inspector, you're the person on the ground. You'll receive inspection orders assigned in your own county, drive to the property, document what you find with photos and a short structured report, and submit it through our inspection platform. Most inspections are exterior and take 15-25 minutes on site. You work from your vehicle, on your own schedule, within the deadlines attached to each order. What the day actually looks like:
Review the orders assigned to you and plan an efficient route
Travel to each property and complete the inspection
Photograph the property to client specification
Confirm occupancy and note condition accurately
Submit each completed report before its due date Pay Inspectors are paid per completed inspection — this is contract work, not an hourly or salaried position.
Active inspectors earn between $24,000 and $70,000 per year. That's a wide range, and it's worth explaining: inspectors treating this as part-time work alongside something else sit at the lower end, while full-time inspectors running an efficient route in an active market sit at the top. Order volume varies by area. Where you land in the range is largely up to how much you take on. What you need
Valid driver's license
A reliable vehicle that is registered and insured in your name
Smartphone with a working camera
Ability to walk a property and use a ladder, with or without reasonable accommodation
Willingness to complete a background check — required before your first assignment, standard across this industry, as our clients are financial institutions
Comfortable working independently and meeting deadlines without supervision
Understanding that this is a 1099 independent contractor position Experience No inspection experience is required — we train you. Most of our strongest inspectors came in with none. That said, it does help, and we'd like to hear about it if you have any of the following:
Prior property inspection, property preservation, or field services work
Familiarity with InspectorADE or similar inspection platforms
Appraisal, real estate, insurance adjusting, or title background
Delivery, route driving, trades, or construction experience
Any work where you documented conditions accurately and were trusted to work alone If you're already inspecting for another company, that's fine — working with several companies at once is normal in this field, and this can run alongside what you're already doing.
