Job Description

Job SummaryWe are seeking experienced Construction Inspectors to oversee construction activities, ensure contract compliance, monitor quality and safety, and verify that work is completed according to approved drawings, specifications, and standards.

Key ResponsibilitiesPerform daily inspections to ensure contract compliance for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) trades.

Review contractor As-Built drawings monthly and ensure they are properly updated.

Conduct and document onsite QA/QC activities, including:1st Delivery InspectionsClosure InspectionsMock-Up InspectionsAcceptance TestingPrepare and coordinate Pre-Activity Meetings before major scopes of work.

Review contract drawings, specifications, and approved product submittals to ensure construction conforms to requirements.

Verify that manufacturers' installation instructions are properly followed.

Monitor subcontractors and suppliers to ensure required pre-approvals are obtained before work begins.

Assist contractors with coordinating site activities among different trades and facility personnel.

Monitor workforce levels and performance against the project work plan.

Coordinate facility training as required.

Verify that all workers have required OSHA 10 cards on file.

Maintain OSHA 30 certification as required for the Inspector.

Ensure compliance with generally accepted construction workmanship and quality standards.

Provide recommendations to improve constructability and resolve potential field issues.

Complete project punch lists and track items through completion.

Education, Experience & CertificationsNICET Certification in Transportation/Highway and Bridge Construction preferred.

Experience with NYSDOT and/or NYSTA projects preferred.

ACI or ATSSA certification preferred.

Additional certifications are highly desirable, including:

ACI Concrete Field Testing CertificationNETTCP Soil & Aggregate CertificationSPEDSOther relevant construction inspection certificationsOSHA 30 certification required.

Construction inspection experience with strong knowledge of contract documents, QA/QC, safety, and construction standards.

Compensation will be based on the candidate's certification level and experience.
