The Village of Monroe is seeking a qualified Part-Time Assistant Building Inspector III to assist with building code enforcement, inspections, and related duties.
Responsibilities:
Inspect new construction and alterations for compliance with approved plans, building codes, zoning regulations, and applicable laws. Review plans and permit applications. Investigate complaints and report violations. Communicate with contractors, property owners, and the public. Maintain inspection records and prepare reports. Assist with permits and certificates of occupancy as authorized.
Qualifications:
NYS Basic Code Enforcement Training Certificate; or Associate's degree or higher in Civil Engineering Technology, Architectural Technology, Construction Technology, or related field; or High school diploma/equivalency and two (2) years of paid experience in building construction or inspection.
