About the Role QMS Inc. is seeking an experienced QA/QC Inspector to support a major long-term project at a chemical plant facility in Texas City, TX. This is a 3-year assignment requiring a hands-on professional with a strong dual background in electrical and civil disciplines, along with proven experience in chemical/industrial plant environments. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring construction quality, code compliance, and documentation integrity throughout the life of the project. Key Responsibilities Perform quality assurance and quality control inspections across electrical and civil construction scopes, ensuring compliance with project specifications, codes, and industry standards (NEC, NFPA 70E, ASME, ASTM, etc.) Review and verify installation of electrical systems, including conduit, cable tray, grounding/bonding, terminations, and equipment installation Inspect civil/structural work including concrete placement, foundations, grading, and underground utilities Conduct and document testing activities (e.g., Megger, DLRO, hydrostatic/pressure testing, weld inspections) as applicable Identify and document nonconformances; track corrective actions through resolution Maintain accurate, organized QA/QC documentation including inspection reports, test records, and turnover packages Coordinate with project engineers, construction managers, subcontractors, and client representatives to resolve quality issues Participate in daily/weekly quality meetings and provide clear verbal and written status updates to project leadership and client stakeholders Support pre-commissioning and commissioning activities as needed Ensure adherence to site-specific safety protocols required in a chemical plant environment (PPE, permits, hazard awareness) Required Qualifications Minimum 5+ years of QA/QC experience in industrial construction, with demonstrated exposure to both electrical and civil scopes Prior experience working within an active chemical plant, refinery, or similar industrial/process facility Working knowledge of
NEC, NFPA
70E, and relevant civil/structural codes and standards Experience with inspection and test documentation, nonconformance reporting, and turnover packages Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable interfacing with client representatives, engineers, and field crews Strong attention to detail and ability to manage documentation across a multi-year project lifecycle Ability to read and interpret electrical and civil/structural drawings and specifications OSHA 30 certification preferred Willingness to commit to a 3-year project assignment in Texas City, TX Preferred Qualifications NICET, CWI, or other relevant QA/QC certifications Experience with SafetyCulture, Procore, or similar digital QA/QC documentation platforms Prior experience in petrochemical, refining, or heavy industrial construction
