(UCI) is seeking Underground Fiber Laborers to join our team in the Wixom, Michigan area . This position supports underground utility construction crews, including horizontal directional drilling (HDD) operations for fiber optic installation. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to build a career in underground utilities, fiber optics, and directional drilling with a growing company.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist Foreman with horizontal directional drilling (HDD) operations Support installation of underground fiber optic conduit and utilities Locate, expose, and work safely around existing utilities ( 811 awareness ) Load and unload tools, materials, and equipment Assist with site setup, cleanup, and job site restoration Maintain safe work zones and follow OSHA and PPE safety standards Communicate effectively with crew members and supervisors

Requirements:

Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical labor outdoors Willingness to work in varying weather conditions Ability to work overtime and occasional overnight travel Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with directional drilling equipment (Vermeer, Ditch Witch, etc.) Experience in underground utility or fiber optic construction CDL-A License (preferred, not required) Experience with locating, trenching, or conduit installation
