Driller / Toolpusher Position Summary The Derrick Hand is a vital member of the drilling crew responsible for maintaining drilling fluids, monitoring drilling equipment, and performing duties in the derrick during drilling operations. This position supports safe, efficient, and continuous drilling activities while ensuring compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain and monitor drilling fluid (mud) systems to ensure proper performance and drilling efficiency.
Operate, inspect, and assist with the maintenance of mud pumps, shale shakers, and related drilling equipment.
Perform derrick duties during drilling and pipe-handling operations.
Assist with handling drill pipe, casing, tubing, and other drilling materials.
Mix and add drilling chemicals and maintain accurate operational records as required.
Assist with rig-up, rig-down, and general rig maintenance activities.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment and comply with all company safety policies and procedures.
Participate in safety meetings, training programs, and other tasks necessary to support drilling operations.
Qualifications and Experience
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Previous oilfield or drilling rig experience preferred.
Experience working on a Kelly rig is preferred.
Knowledge of drilling fluid systems and drilling operations is desirable.
Strong understanding of safety procedures and hazard recognition.
Ability to work in physically demanding environments and varying weather conditions.
Ability to follow direction and work effectively as part of a team.

Physical Requirements
Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 75 pounds.

Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and rotational schedules.
Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions and around noise, dust, vibration, and drilling chemicals.
Working Conditions
Outdoor oilfield drilling environment.
Exposure to heavy machinery, moving equipment, and hazardous conditions.
Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
