Ideal candidates will be proficient in both Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) equipment operation and locating. Candidates with experience in only one of these skill areas may also be considered. Responsibilities Operate directional drilling equipment for underground utility construction. Locate and track underground drilling operations. Assist Foremen and Supervisors with field activities. Operate trenchers, plows, backhoes, and skid-steer loaders as needed. Operate tampers, jackhammers, drills, and saws. Perform cable pulling, testholing, restoration, and other manual field work. Read and interpret blueprints and job specifications. Follow safety procedures and project requirements. Work effectively with field crews and other team members. Equipment Experience Experience with the following equipment is preferred:
JT-10 JT-20 JT-24
Requirements Previous underground utility installation experience. Experience operating directional drilling equipment. Experience locating HDD operations. Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A) highly preferred. Class A CDL with Tanker endorsement preferred for qualified candidates. Ability to meet Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements, including required physical and drug testing. Ability to read blueprints and follow job specifications. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Willingness to work in the field and follow directions. Willingness to travel is a plus. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
