Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Painter to join our dynamic construction and renovation team. Responsibilities Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, scraping, caulking, and repairing drywall, plaster, stucco, or concrete as needed to ensure optimal adhesion. Apply paint, stain, varnish, or other coatings using brushes, rollers, spray guns (including conventional and construction spray painting), and power tools to achieve smooth and durable finishes. Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and surface specifications to accurately execute projects according to design requirements. Use ladders safely and effectively to reach high or hard-to-access areas while adhering to all safety regulations and utilizing proper respiratory protection. Conduct surface testing with visual color comparison tools and ensure color matching accuracy for consistent results across projects. Perform renovation work including fixture installation, drywall finishing, caulking, stucco application, and restoration tasks to enhance or restore building aesthetics. Maintain a clean work environment by managing waste materials and ensuring all tools—hand tools, paint sprayers, power tools—are properly stored and maintained. Follow safety protocols diligently on construction sites to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with all safety regulations. Qualifications Proven experience in residential painting, commercial painting, industrial coating applications, or related construction painting projects. Strong knowledge of construction estimating processes and interpreting technical drawings or blueprints. Skilled in surface preparation techniques such as drywall finishing, plastering, caulking, stucco application, and concrete finishing. Familiarity with various application methods including brush painting, roller painting, hand tools usage, spray painting (including construction spray), and coating techniques. Ability to assess surfaces visually for color matching and quality standards; experience with color theory is a plus. Comfortable working at heights using ladders safely; experience with scaffold setup is advantageous. Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to surface area or material quantities. Knowledge of safety regulations related to construction site work including respiratory protection practices and proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). Construction site experience with the ability to read blueprints or technical drawings accurately. Additional skills such as handyman experience, fixture installation, renovation expertise, drywall repair or maintenance are highly desirable.
